Guasha Challenge: Tuesday - Balancing Act

Author Team Essentialist

Be it energetically, physically, or emotionally, balance is fundamental to our health. The importance of balance really can't be overlooked, in TCM it's synonymous with good health. Today we're going to focus on creating balance using channels in the arm where numerous meridians can be found. The Yin meridians of the arm are the Lung, Heart, and Pericardium. The Yang meridians of the arm are the Large Intestine, Small Intestine, and Triple Burner

We're going to work with the large intestine meridian today. Treating this specific area of your body will help balance the YIN and YANG. Dr. Kung likes to focus on this meridian because it helps you both process and let go of negative emotions, or emotions that are no longer serving you well.  This specific large intestine point also helps to release stagnant heat in the body, heat can include anger, resentment, and stress.  Follow along and learn a simple stroke using your guasha tool to help restore internal balance. What could be better on a Tuesday, when you’re trying to balance the demands of the week?

Self Work:

Challenge yourself to remain in balance.  If there are things happening in your life that threaten to disrupt that, try using this method before they actually do.  See if you can actively bring yourself back whenever you feel overcome with negativity, emotions, thoughts or behaviors that you need to get in check.
